A Very Merry Christmas

It certinaly was a very Merry Christmas at the Powell house this year!
On Christmas Eve we baked cookies and Sydney made sure to leave carrots for the Reindeer along with a kit-kat, cookies and a note for Santa!
Santa ate all the chocolate he could eat without being sick! ;)

Santa came and brought lots of presents for Sydney. She got a leap frog Zippity along with all of the CLOTHES Matt and I bought...which I must say she wasn't too happy about getting! After opening about the 4th outfit she said, "oh brother, I don't have time for this!"

My mom, dad and sister in-laws came and spoiled ALL of us. Then we ate a wondeful breakfast...I was able to test my griddle out that my wonderful husband bought me!

but most of all this year....the Powell house was filled with family, love and laughter.

With the New Year a day away, I wish each and everyone of you health and happiness in 2010. Make the best of each situation and everyday that rolls around. Take the time to enjoy the smaller things in life this year so that you can truly see the big picture.

Live, laugh, love!

Where's the other?

Last night, Sydney said the funniest thing. My mom came in from work and had a small, green stocking filled with hershey kisses. She gave the SMALL stocking to Sydney and the look on Sydney's face was priceless. Sydney is always very grateful for any gifts. You could give her a box and she would thank you for it 600 times.

After studying over her new prize for a few minutes, she said, "Thank you for my sock, where's the other?"

Then later, much later...like almost midnight later (She was on a chocolate kick), Sydney got very quiet. It was the eerie kind of quiet for a 3 year old, so I asked her what she was doing....she replied, "Nothings, just eating candy out of my sock!" I guess I need to find a match so she will have 2 socks.

Change

I must say that I am not a big fan of change. I do not even like rearranging furniture sometimes because it makes me feel disoriented or something...did I just say that? The smallest touch of NEW in my house can have me trying to adjust for weeks. I know, it is weird. But, that is how I am. However, I KNOW that this is LIFE. Life is about change, after all, what fun would it be if things were always the same?

I subscribed to this application on facebook and it sends you a message everyday that they believe God wants you to know...I am sure there are probably generic messages and you may or may not get one that actually pertains to your life, but today mine fits me so I wanted to share.

"On this day, God wants you to know...
... that change is the very nature of life, - welcome it. No glass ever became sand again; No bread ever became wheat; No ripened fruit ever became a flower. Welcome change, and choose what kind of glass you create, what kind of bread you bake, what kind of fruit you harvest."

HOW TRUE! While change can sometimes be difficult to embrace, I know it is worth it. Things change and people change. So, today I am going to make an effort to embrace change in my life.

Are you open to change?

Have you

Have you ever had a day when you thought there wasn't anything else that could possibly go wrong?!

Have you ever had a day where you felt so upset but you didn't know exactly WHY!?

Have you ever had a day where you felt like everything you touched fell apart?

Have you ever had a day where you just couldn't wait for night so you could start over with a new day?!!!

Have you ever had a day where you did everything backwards??!

Have you ever had a day when you just didn't feel like yourself?

Yeah, I haven't either.

Twilight.....

So for the past few months I have been wondering what all the hype is with "Twilight?" I told Matt that I would like to see Twilight, to be honest, it was just to tell my best friend that she was wrong, I didn't like it and Edward Cullen wasn't as "hot" as she had stated! But, that wasn't the case! I LOVED the movie and now I am hooked!

Matt was so thoughtful and BOUGHT me the movie at Wal Mart and watched it with me Tuesday night. This movie is the ultimate love story! While Edward Cullen is a girls dream guy, I have my own Edward Cullen! Sorry ladies! :)

So, I have to say if you haven't seen Twilight, go rent it, or better yet, buy it because you are going to want to watch it again and again! I am officially a Twilight fan and can't wait to see New Moon!!!
